Spring came in like a lion this year for a majority of us in the USA. Guess Mother Nature didn’t think we are ready for Daffodils just yet. Do we need to reflect a bit more on where we are as individuals and where we want to be? One of our colleagues, Meghan Joy was just voted off American Idol this week. Simon told her it was because she had commented that she didn’t care. Sandy thinks Meghan cared a lot; a lot about her style of singing. Perhaps Meghan discovered that she wanted to sing her songs, her way. If that meant leaving Idol, so be it.
We do know that the freshness of another season is on it’s way. Are we ready to take a look at our lives and evaluate whether we need to take a fresh start or a slight detour? Mar 9, 2009 I got this question from a new customer and thought I’d share it with you:
I wanted ask you a question about the cards. Are they all blank cards inside? I’m not a great inspirational writer and I thought the cards that (are ready-made) also have notes inside the cards as well as outside like normal cards you would get from stores.
I answered with this:
When I joined, I always searched for the cards that had sayings too, but as time went by, I discovered that the saying in the card wasn’t as important as the fact that I took the time to send the card! I found that just by saying something like, “I was thinking of you today…” meant more than the greatest card poet to my friends or family because it was sent from my heart.
Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”.
I’ve found this statement to be so true in the time I’ve been sending cards. People email, call and will even respond with a card of their own! Cards really do touch lives ~ we can touch them, feel them, pin them up on the wall and/or keep them forever in an album.
Remember feelings that come over us when looking through old photo albums, scrapbooks and yearbooks? Memories come flooding back, filling us with emotions…. We laugh and sometimes cry. We own these feeling, which help us get in touch with who we are today.

Feb 19, 2009 Networking is helping each other succeed. It’s been going on forever. We share our knowledge and resources in hope that we can help others. It’s not something we just do at work. Friends as for places to find good deals on cars, lawyers and even where to get the best pizza in town! A school is a network, a club is a network as is a sports team.
Whether you’re a consumer, a CEO or a marketer, relationship marketing is the “in” thing to do. New sites are popping up all over. Join this network, join that network, get 5000 connection by joining this other network!
I’m beginning to wonder if we are focused to much on the number of people in our networks rather than what we can offer to help those we have networks with? How well do we know those 500 - 1000 in our Network?

February has specific importance to everyone. February 14th is a day for sweethearts. This year the 16th is set aside to celebrate President’s Day, even though George Washington was born on the 22nd, and Abraham Lincoln on the 12th. February is also Black History month, remembering many individuals who have molded America one way or another. February has a special meaning to Don and me. We are approaching our 4th anniversary being involved with the greeting cards. It doesn’t seem it could be that long already. Yet, reviewing the number of cards we have sent shows me time does keep marching on, with the numbers increasing daily. Sandy sure found a winner when she discovered the web-based card system! And I am the lucky one! She is so persistent! That is, however, what makes Sandy successful! Here’s a contest! We always encourage others to give the cards a “Test Drive”! We are well into February already! Where are the weeks going? For those who keep up with our Blog, you have probably noticed Sandy has done quite a bit of blogging. I have been without a computer for practically an entire month. What a hassle that had been! Thinking the problem was just a simple thing…maybe just my monitor needing to be replaced, I was sadly mistaken. That was not what happened, as the Mother Board went completely down. Days went into weeks without a computer. Geez, how I hated to go to the local library once or twice a week! There was a frigid period during that time frame! It was definitely my living nightmare! However, I did end up getting a new Dell system, and thanks to my niece Shelly, I now have my “Life-Line” up and running once again! I am a happy camper once again! I am sitting here enjoying seeing the sunshine outside and loving I won’t need to schedule bus rides to the library anytime soon! I wonder how many of you take for granted the ability of using the telephone or just hop in your car to call or go somewhere? Both Sandy and I face challenges head on and deal with each situation the best we know how. Our computers ARE our link to the world. When we talk about our greeting card business, we know there are other individuals out there that could use the system, just as much as we do. We log in daily and write notes that will touch those we know may need encouragement or a friendly smile! As Sandy just wrote a couple days ago, February 14th is approaching all too quickly. Why not click on either website and send an unexpected card to someone you are thinking about. Believe me…you will put a smile on their face! |
